ODA Milia Treatment

Professional removal of styes

What is the ODA Milia Treatment ?

Milia, also known as barley grains, are small white or yellowish-white cysts that develop just under are located on the skin surface. They form when dead skin cells and sebum become trapped in the skin and cannot come out naturally. Milia appear most common on the front of the face, particularly around the eyes, but can also occur in other places in the appearance of the face. Although milia are harmless, they often do not disappear on their own and can be perceived as cosmetically bothersome.

At ODA Skin Clinic, we remove milia in a safe and effective way. Depending on the size, depth, and location of the barley grain, we choose the most suitable treatment method. We treat smaller or deeper-seated milia with coagulation therapy. In this process, emitted a small amount of heat with a fine electrode, causing the barley grain can be carefully removed. We manually remove larger or more superficially located barley grains using a sterile needle and extraction.

After the treatment, we recommend appropriate home care to keep the skin healthy and to reduce the risk of new styes forming as much as possible.
In most cases, one to two treatments are sufficient for a beautiful result.
