Scars can result from acne, surgery, an accident, or other skin damage. Although scars are a natural part of the healing process, they can sometimes be perceived as bothersome due to changes in the color, texture, or depth of the skin.

What are scars?
A scar forms when the skin repairs itself after damage. During this healing process, new connective tissue is produced to close the wound. This new tissue often differs from the surrounding skin, which is why a scar can remain visible.
Scars can vary in color, structure, thickness, and depth. Some scars fade on their own, while others remain visible for a long time.

Depending on the type of scar and your supplementary insurance, scar treatment may possibly be (partially) reimbursed.
ODA Skin Clinic is affiliated with all Dutch health insurers. The amount of any reimbursement depends on your supplementary insurance and policy conditions.
